Hotel Policies
- Reservations: Only confirmed reservations will be honored. Room and Yurt reservations may be made up to eleven months in advance, at rates applicable to the new reservation dates. Guests have first right of refusal and may book the room they just stayed for the next year before those rooms are made widely available provided they book for the next year at checkout. The guest’s name, credit card number and email address must be provided at the time a reservation is made. Guests The Lodge reserves the right to require additional information if deemed necessary or appropriate by the Innkeeper.
- Covid 19: While businesses are beginning to re-open following the “Pandemic Pause”, many believe serious risk of infection will be with us for awhile, despite good health and safety practices. While we will be taking significant steps to reduce and mitigate these risks in what we understand to be a commercially reasonable manner, we do not know if they will suffice or be effective. Accordingly, you should not visit us unless and until you are comfortable with assuming these risks.
- Deposits: In order to be confirmed, each guestroom/yurt reservation must be accompanied by a deposit equal to the greater of the cost of one night’s stay per room/yurt reservation, or 25% of the projected cost for the entire room/yurt stay.
- Room/Yurt Occupancy: The guestrooms and yurts are deigned and priced for double occupancy. Subject to the Managers’s prior consent, there will be an additional charge per night of $35 for any additional persons (except children under 6, for which there will be no additional charge).
- Minimum Stays: A two-night stay is required with respect to any reservation that includes a Friday or Saturday night. Further, the Lodge reserves the right to require a three-night stay with respect to those weekends designated from time to time on the Lodge’s website.
- Cancellations: If a confirmed reservation is cancelled at least 14 days prior to scheduled arrival (i.e., a full ten days’ prior to 3:00 PM on the scheduled date of arrival), the applicable reservation deposit will be returned in full. If a confirmed reservation is cancelled between the fourteenth and third day prior to scheduled arrival, the Lodge will retain the full amount of the applicable reservation deposit. A prospective guest providing less than three days’ notice, or a “no show”, will be responsible for the reservation in full (i.e., room charges and applicable taxes), which the Lodge will be entitled to charge to the credit card on file.
- Fees/Taxes: A sales tax of 8% and an occupancy tax of 4% will be charged on all accommodations, and a sales tax of 8% will be charged on all food, beverages, and other products and services. A fee of $35 will be charged on all returned checks. A corking fee may be payable as set forth under “Alcohol” below.
- Payment: Payment may be made by cash, traveler’s check, certain credit cards (American Express, Master Card, Visa or Discover card), or, with the consent of the Innkeeper, bank check.
- Check In/Check Out: Guests may check in at any time after 3:00 PM. Check-out must occur on or before 11:00 AM (a later check-out may be arranged with the Innkeeper, subject to other guest commitments). Any guest requiring a check-in after 8:00 PM should call ahead and inform the Innkeeper of the anticipated time of arrival.
- Smoking: Smoking is not permitted in any building comprising a part of the Lodge, or on the grounds generally, except that guests may smoke in the clearly designated smoking area across the road on the north end of the lakefront side of the property. In an effort to ensure guest compliance, the room of any guest found in violation of our smoking policy will be assessed a $200 cleaning fee per violation.
- Food: Food may not be prepared in the guestrooms or yurts (including on patios or balconies), although food prepared elsewhere (such as pizza) may be consumed there.
- Alcohol: Only alcohol purchased from the wine shop of at the bar may be consumed in the restaurant, bar and lounge, or on the patios, balconies and grounds of the property, except that, subject to the payment of a corking fee of $15/bottle, guests may consume in these areas wine purchased elsewhere.
- Pets: Generally, pets are not allowed. However, there are a total of four guestrooms/yurts designated as dog friendly, and one dog may stay at a guestroom/yurt so designated upon payment of a $35/night dog fee. Anyone bringing an animal onto the property is responsible for any damages it causes.
- Service Animals: Service animals are welcome, subject to presentation of the necessary documentation, but can only be accommodated in the rooms designated for pets as provided above, if available.
- Patio/Balcony Use: Patios and balconies may be used for small gatherings and relaxation, but may not be used for the preparation or consumption of food.
- Parking: Guest parking is complimentary at any designated parking space located on the Lodge’s property. There is parking in front of the north cottages and restaurant and behind the two-story guestroom building, as well as along the side and behind the pool. Overflow parking is available along Ulster Road to the north of the property. We do ask that guests not park on grassy areas, except when all other parking spaces are in use.
- Pool: The pool is available during the pool season for use by guests, but not otherwise. No life guard will be on duty, and it is imperative that all posted rules relating to use of the pool be strictly observed.
- Events Building: The Winston Pavillion will be available for rental by guests when not being used by the Lodge to host a special event, but will be off-limits to guests when being so used. If interested in renting the events building, guests should ask the Innkeeper for rental rates.
- Wine Shop: Because of limited traffic, the Lodge’s Wine Shop maintains designated “short” hours, which will be posted on the entry door.
- Fitness Studio: The Lodge has a small Fitness Studio for use by guests, that is available at all times. Typically, the door will be unlocked, but the access code for the digital lock is posted in your guestroom/yurt.
- Personal Effects: Each guest is solely responsible for his/her personal effects. While the Lodge is not liable for lost, stolen or left-behind property, it will make every reasonable effort to recover and/or return such property.
- Damage to Lodge’s Property: Guests will be liable for any damage or destruction they or their guests cause to the Lodge or its furniture, fixtures or other personal property.
